The 5980/1R-001 is one of the most desirable modern versions of the Nautilus, combining Patek Philippe’s iconic sports watch design with a flyback chronograph and a full rose gold construction. The Nautilus was originally introduced in 1976 and has become one of the most influential luxury sports watches ever produced. It features a 40.5mm 18k rose gold case paired with a matching integrated bracelet. Its black dial gradually transitions to brown toward the outer edge and features rose gold hands and hour markers, along with a date window at 3 o’clock. Unlike a traditional three-register chronograph, the 5980 uses a highly legible monocounter at 6 o’clock that combines the elapsed minutes and hours into a single display. Powering the 5980/1R-001 is Patek Philippe’s in-house Caliber CH 28-520 C automatic flyback chronograph movement with approximately 45 to 55 hours of power reserve.
