The 116515LN meteorite Daytona is a true showstopper and statement piece, a watch to crown a collection. This stunning iteration of the Daytona features an Everose case and clasp (Rolex's proprietary blended rose gold alloy) and the supremely comfortable Oysterflex rubber strap. The dial is the real talking point of the 116515, featuring a slice of meteorite straight from the Gibeon meteorite in Namibia, Africa. The material itself makes this model rarer and more collectable, but so does the tightening of Namibia's laws. Rolex purchased a sizable amount of meteorite from the Gibeon meteorite, but in 2004, the state introduced the National Heritage Act, which forbade the exporting of meteorite from Namibia without the state's consent. This means that Rolex has a backstock of now-protected meteorite used for certain dials. This means each Rolex with a meteorite dial gets more and more rare. Powering the 116515 is Rolex's in-house Caliber 4130 automatic movement with 72 hours of power reserve.
